MGLAX Board Changes 2017

On Monday September 11, 2016 the Maple Grove Lacrosse Association Board of Directors voted to separate the youth levels giving all responsibility and control to the newly formed Maple Grove Youth Lacrosse Association (MGYLA) effective January 1, 2017.

This was done in order to facilitate an amicable split with the goal of the having two stronger organizations focusing on their members while working together to continue to grow the sport of lacrosse.

  • MGLA will still operate and oversee all high school teams; Varsity, Junior Varsity, Freshman – Sophomore Teams (Fresh/Soph)
  • MGYLA will operate all youth and non-High School Teams and the age levels described by US Lacrosse
  • Age specific equipment will be divided to the appropriate age levels and shared assets will be divided equally between the two associations.

The October Board meeting served as an informational meeting and was open to all parents of children participating in High School and Youth Lacrosse in Maple Grove.

Headed to our first state tournament ever in lacrosse!!!!
